I've had a lot of fans come up to me this year and complain about this season.  I totally understand at the big league level, it's all about wins and loses, but this team was never going to compete for anything.  This roster is about young starting pitching and a bunch of place holders.  That's why at the start of the season I tried to tell everyone to focus on the young players because this organization needs to find a core of quality players before they move into a new ballpark.  There are some positives to this season and more are on the way.

I'm absolutely loving the growth of Ryon Healy.  This guy has only played in 134 MLB games and has already hit 27 home runs.  We're looking at a legit 30+ home run guy in the middle of the order for years to come.  He has proven already that he can deal with adversity.  Whether it's fighting through a slump or dealing with having to play multiple positions.  Fans always complain that they can't buy a player's jersey because of the constant movement.  Buy a Healy jersey because he is not going anywhere!!!

Chad Pinder has also been impressive.  He really didn't show much last year when he was called up, but OMG this year is completely different.  He's hit eight home runs in just 37 games and has not yet gotten consistent at bats.  I also like the fact that he's shown he can play multiple positions.

In Tampa this past weekend, we got our first look at Jaycob Brugman.  I was impressed with his approach at the plate and his ability to use the entire field.  He's pretty athletic and can play all three outfield positions.  I really like when a kid comes up and the moment doesn't look too big for them.

On Friday, I'm going to ask the A's GM David Forst when are we finally going to see Franklin Barreto and Matt Chapman.  I really think fans will start to enjoy the season again when a lot more young players are in the lineup.  It's time for the A's to find their core for the future!
