Bill Romanowski, the four-time Super Bowl champ, stopped by “Mornings W/ Joe, Lo & Dibs” and offered up a characteristically-candid assessment of the struggling Derek Carr.

Exhibit 1, as Romo explained to Chris Townsend and Daryle “The Guru” Johnson, look no further than the receiving corps.

“You can kind of tell that the receivers lost trust in Derek Carr,” Romo said on 95.7 The Game. “Hey, they’ll never say it but their body language and the amount of drops they had this year I think are indicative of that relationship of where they were.”

“It’s up to really Derek Carr to get the ‘it’ factor back because he lost it. The year prior, before the injury, he had a bunch of miraculous comebacks in the second half that were just unreal.

As Romo detailed, it’s all unraveled at a frenetic rate for Carr and the Raiders.

“It was almost Joe Montana-like, (or) John Elway — a guy that can bring you back. No matter what’s going on in the game, you always have a chance to win,” Romo said. “And that makes a great quarterback.”

“Well, that magic we had last year, we lost it this year and I don’t know if I’ve seen quarterbacks get it back. And I’m worried about it.”

With one game to go for the 6-9 Raiders, Romo has been left scratching his head about Carr’s bad passes, shoddy mechanics and tentative style in the pocket.

“Something really bad happened this year to Derek Carr and I don’t have an answer for it, but his psyche, he lost the ‘it’ factor that was magical the last couple of years.”
