Romo and Lo joined Papa and Bonta for “The Football Hour” on Tuesday afternoon and spoke extensively about the struggles of Derek Carr.

Romo identified an array of issues weighing down the Raiders’ $125-million man.

“His game is off. His throwing motion is off. I think he needs to get back to good mechanics,” Romo said. “He needs a new offensive coordinator and he needs to start fresh.

Lo chimed in later in the conversation, expressing optimism that Carr will rediscover his vintage form.

“This will be, in my opinion, this will be a pro bowl quarterback again,” Lo said.

“This guy will be arguably a hall of famer,” Lo continued. “He has those type of skills. He just fell off.”

Lo pointed out the difficulty of shuffling through multiple coordinator before Romo interjected.

“I think what you’re saying, Lo, is he doesn’t need a friend. He needs a coach.”

“He needs someone that can really push (him) and those buttons,” Romo said. “Some of the best coaches I had, they knew what buttons to push on me and it pissed me off, but at the end of the day, it drove me to get better. And that’s what coaches do.”
