Report: Warriors to visit local kids in DC rather than make trip to White House

Trump disinvited Warriors even as club never showed interest in visit

The Golden State Warriors have reportedly formulated a Donald Trump-less plan for their upcoming visit to the nation’s capital.

The president famously disinvited the the club from stopping by the White House, even though the Warriors had never expressed an interest in paying such a visit.

Chris Haynes and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN provide the details of the Warriors’ alternative plans:

“The reigning NBA champs have decided to go on a private tour of an undisclosed locale on Feb. 27 in their lone visit to the nation's capital, league sources told ESPN.”

“Head coach Steve Kerr left it up to the players to determine how they wanted to spend their time, and the players selected a venue in which local kids would join them. It will be closed off to the media, sources said.”

Back in September, when Trump declared via his Twitter account that Stephen Curry and the Warriors were not welcome, it was LeBron James who took to Twitter to defend the Dubs…
