On exit-interview day in Alameda, NaVorro Bowman was the most promient Raider to speak with reporters and discuss the topic du jour — the possible hiring of Jon Gruden.

“It’s exciting," Bowman said.

"You know what he’s done in the past. You know that he understands the game of football — both sides — and he’s studied the quarterback position inside and out," the linebacker continued. "He’s a guy that is a well-known critic in this game and a coach as well. So, I look forward to seeing what happens.”

Bowman, who emerged as a lead and defensive anchor witht the Raiders after his fallout in Santa Clara, admitted that the tumultuous coaching situation complicates his future with the team.

“Just wait and see where everything falls," Bowman said. "But I enjoyed my time here.”

Jon Condo, who's been the Raiders long snapper since 2007, has lived through the Gruden rumors before. His next head coach with the Raiders will be his seventh.

“I guess I’ll believe it when I see it," Condo said when asked if he believes the "Monday Night Football" broadcaster is actually going to leave the booth.

“Just from all the reports in previous years and stuff like that. He may do it. He may not. It looks like he is, but I don’t know. It will be interesting to see him back on the sideline.”
