Former longtime 49er Frank Gore sat down with Peter King of The MMQB for a wide-ranging interview, discussing at length just how much he enjoyed playing for the 49ers — especially under the direction of Jim Harbaugh.

“When Harbaugh came to the Niners (in 2011), everything changed,” Gore said. “His attitude basically was, ‘We don’t give a F about anyone.’ Players, we loved that."

The 49ers 3rd-round pick back in 2005, Gore has continued to be an effective rusher in his three seasons with the Colts since departing the 49ers following the 2014 season. Last year, he surpassed the 1,000-yard plateau.

Gore had the ultimate praise for the Harbaugh-led 49ers.

“Best years of my life,” Gore said. “I loved that team. Harbaugh, man, straightforward guy. If he thought you were full of s---, he’d tell you, and you’re not going to be on his team.”

The RB wishes he’d never been pushed out the door.

“I have loved it here. I miss San Francisco. I never wanted to leave. But I still think I get better as I go.”
