Bruce Maxwell, the Oakland A's player who rose to prominence as the first MLB player to kneel during the anthem, was indicted by a grand jury in Arizona this week, according to a report from NBC Sports Bay Area.

The indictment indicates that that probable cause was found for Maxwell's felony case to proceed. The Oakland catcher is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct, resulting from an Oct. 28 incident in Scottsdale, AZ, when Maxwell allegedly pointed his gun at a food delivery person. Maxwell could potentially face between five to 15 years in prison, based on that charges.

The A's have yet to release a statement on Maxwell's indictment, but previously announced that they were "disappointed to learn of the allegations."
