Vic Tafur started reading the Sporting Green at age 5 and now is in his eighth year writing for it. He covers the Oakland Raiders and the NFL for the San Francisco Chronicle and also writes about boxing, basketball and baseball. Tafur has deep local roots. He went to elementary school in Hayward, high school in San Mateo and college at Cal-Berkeley. He still has posters of Jeff Leonard and Bernard King in his parents' garage but now the only team he roots for is the Sunday buffet team at the Emeryville Chevy's. Tafur covered the San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors and Cal basketball team before chronicling the Tom Cable, Hue Jackson Dennis Allen era in Oakland. A big Steven Seagal fan, he takes on all Twitter gangsters.
