95.7 The Game Signs ESPN’s Ric Bucher To Multi-Year Deal
For Afternoon Drive Beginning September 6th
20-Year Bay Area Native Joins Brandon Tierney Weekday Afternoons 3:00-7:00 pm
Bucher Continue as NBA Reporter for ESPN’s SportsCenter and NBA studio shows
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – 95.7 The GAME (KGMZ-FM), The Bay Area’s New Sound for Sports, today announced that ESPN’s Ric Bucher (@RicBucher), a 20-year Bay Area native, will join Brandon Tierney (@BrandonTierney) as Co-Host of The Drive weekday afternoons at a new time: 3:00-7:00 pm, effective Thursday, September 6th. Bucher signed a multi-year deal and will continue as a Bay Area-based NBA Reporter for ESPN’s SportsCenter and NBA studio shows, as well as Senior Writer covering professional basketball for ESPN The Magazine.
“Ric Bucher's credentials in our industry speak for themselves and he’s instantly recognized locally and nationally for his great work with ESPN. Bay Area sports fans are going to learn quickly that he's a 20 year Bay Area native and his passion and knowledge for our local teams is outstanding,” said Jason Barrett, Program Director of 95.7 The GAME. “Ric and Brandon Tierney will be an absolute must-listen during afternoon drive for Bay Area sports fans.”
“I cut my reporting teeth covering Bay Area sports and have lived here for most of the last 20 years so joining 95.7 The GAME feels as if I’m coming home,” said Bucher. “I’ve listened to and identified with the spirit and energy of the station from the day it started and I’m stoked about what’s building here and look forward to being a big part of it.”
